Abertawe Centre

The Abertawe Centre (Swansea) was founded in 1973 and currently has a membership of about 300 in the local area.

Our objectives are to promote the charitable purposes of the National Trust and to make membership of the charity more enjoyable and effective.

Among the National Trust properties we support are activities of the Rhossili Visitor Centre, Dinefwr and Aberdulais Falls, all of which are local to us, but this does not stop us helping other properties who might ask us to support them. In the autumn 2011 Abertawe Centre contributed £1000 to The Snowdonia Fund

The National Trust contributes significantly to the maintenance of areas within The Gower Peninsula, the first area in the United Kingdom to be designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1956.

Three Cliffs Bay is accessible from Pennard National Trust car park in the village of Southgate. At the AGM 2012 members voted to donate £9000 toward the cost of a new hut at this site.
